Truffle hunting championships- the results!

The first UK truffle hunting championship, complete with cultivation workshops, chef demonstrations and
fresh truffles ran in August 2008 and was a roaring success. Congratulations to the overall winner, James Fever and his dog ‘Bramble’, and runner-up Angie Dunne with Treacle. Also, a big thank you to everyone who attended and made the event such a blast. One of the highlights of the event was a workshop that allowed all our truffle-farmers (partners) to get together and discuss experiences. This is now firmly an annual event and we are already planning truffle-fest 2009. For video coverage, see the BBC report:  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7569253.stm

The prime tree planting time November – March is upon us. Traditionally, November to March are good months to plant, as the trees are dormant and planting in the winter allows the truffley-roots plenty of time to settle in before mycorrhiza and root-growth starts again in spring.
